Applied Behavior Analysis is an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities. It often includes both a skill acquisition program to facilitate the development of language, communication, adaptive and functional living skills, as well as a behavior reduction program to facilitate a decrease in maladaptive behaviors. These services are provided under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Applied Behavior Analysis is most effective when parent training and involvement are built in as part of the treatment plan and programming.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on the development of adaptive behavior and coping strategies designed to improve an individuals decision-making, problem solving ability, reasoning, and self-awareness, as well as decrease their unhealthy patterns in cognition, behavior, and social/emotional regulation. CBT is an evidenced-based treatment for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Mental Health Conditions such as anxiety and depression.
